The City of Worthington is holding many of its' meetings virtually using Microsoft Teams.  To join a Teams meeting, just click the Join Microsoft Teams Meeting link in the email you received.

  • If you're on a Windows or Mac PC, you can either use the Teams app if you have it, or just click Join on the web instead.
  • If you're on an iPhone, iPad or Android device, you'll need to install the Teams app from your app store.  It's free and does not require a login.

If you want others to see and hear you, you'll need a webcam, and microphone or headset.  Nearly all modern phones, tablets, and laptops have a camera and microphone built-in.   If you don't have a microphone but wish to participate, you'll need to dial the conference number (567-249-0063) and enter the Conference ID from the invitation.  Note that this only applies to meetings scheduled to include the dial-in feature.

During the meeting, it is requested that you keep your microphone muted when you're not speaking.  If you are not muted and your background noise becomes a distraction, you will likely be muted.  Your microphone is muted when the icon in the Teams control bar has a line through it (see below).  Click the microphone icon to toggle the muting of your microphone.  If you have dialed in, you can mute and unmute yourself by dialing *6.

Additional information on the Teams control bar:

The control bar has several functions.  From left to right, you have:

  • Meeting timer.  Shows how long you’ve been in the meeting.
  • Camera icon.  No line through it, meaning your camera is on.
  • Microphone icon.  Line through it, meaning your microphone is off.
  • Sharing icon.  You can click this to share your screen.
  • Three-dot “more” menu.  Contains extra features.
  • Hand icon.  You can press this button if you need to speak but don’t want to interrupt the speaker.   A hand icon will appear next to your name in the Participants window (see below).
  • Chat window.  You can use this to text chat with others during the meeting, or ask questions.
  • Participants window.  Shows who is in the meeting, whether they’re muted, and if they’ve raised their hand.
  • Hang up icon.  Click this to disconnect from the meeting.  If you click it by accident, you can rejoin the meeting from the link that was emailed to you.
