It is necessary for each user to adjust a couple of settings in order to be able to print using the Community Center’s Multi-Function Printer.  These steps are only necessary the first time you want to print a document.  Once it has been set, it will keep the configuration between your logins.

In the search box (Magnifying Glass next to the Windows Start button), type printer.  Open “Printers & scanners” from the search results.

Scroll down until you see “PRC-BW-C658-PCL on PRINT” in the list.   It will probably be near the end of the list.

*NOTE *It is recommended to uncheck the box for “Let Windows manage my default.  Click on the above printer, and then click “Manage”.

Then click “Printing preferences”.

* NOTE * You can also click the “Set as default” button so this printer will always be selected by default when you print.

In the Printing Preferences window that opens, on “My Tab” tab, scroll down, then set “Select Color” to “Gray Scale.

* NOTE * You need a code to print color on this printer.   You will only be able to print in B&W.

Select the “Basic” tab, then click the “Authentication / Account Track…” button.

Select “Public User”, then click “OK” 2 times to close both open dialog boxes.  You can also close the “Settings” window.

Whenever you print a document, make sure that “PRC-BW-C658-PCL on PRINT” is the selected printer.
