First, you must be connected to the city's VPN.  How do I install Global Protect VPN client for Remote Access?

  1. Click the Windows icon in the lower-left corner:
  2. Type the word remote, and click on Remote Desktop Connection.
    • For faster future access, right-click on it and click Pin to Start or Pin to taskbar.
  3. In the box marked Computer: type your computer's hostname and click Connect.
    • If you don't know your hostname, please contact IT.
  4. You should now be connected to your computer, and it will ask you to enter your username and password.  Enter your regular network username and password you use to login to your city computer.  You may need to enter your user name with the City's "COW" domain, Ex. cow\myusername.
  5. If your password is about to expire while you are working remotely, you can change your Windows Network password through RDP.  Once connected to a remote City PC, to send a <CTRL> + <ALT> + <DEL> sequence to the remote computer, simply press <CTRL> + <ALT> + <END> keys simultaneously.  On the screen that pops up, click “Change a Password” button and enter the required information.  You can also change your password or unlock your account from the City's password reset portal using a web browser from any computer or device attached to the internet by browsing to https://pw.worthington.org
  6. See https://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/ctrl-alt-del-remote-desktop/ for other keyboard shortcuts you can use in Windows Remote Desktop Connection client.
